Arc House is designed to respond to its extreme site conditions: a narrow strip of land with dramatic, undulating topography. The house has a light footprint on the rocky terrain, straddling a seasonal wash. The public spaces utilize the convex portion of the arc to provide expansive, panoramic views oriented toward the valley below. The concave portion of the arc focuses toward an intimate outdoor space with a pool and lounge area. Western and southern exposures are designed to minimize solar heat gain with a primarily opaque facade and operable, exterior vertical louvers.
